A judge set bail at $1.5 million for a Camas man accused of driving his pickup into a father and son, killing the father and critically injuring the 6-year-old boy , as they walked Wednesday afternoon in east Vancouver.

James H. Paulson, 73, appeared Thursday in Clark County Superior Court on allegations of vehicular homicide, vehicular assault and DUI.

Court records identify the father as 28-year-old Jose Enrique Quevedo. A GoFundMe organized by someone who appears to be a family member identifies the boy as Joshua “Joshy” Quevedo.

Paulson is scheduled to be arraigned Oct. 22.

Vancouver police responded to the crash about 1:20 p.m. in the 6300 block of Northeast 137th Avenue.
