The last week has been an ongoing escalation of right and left interpretations of conservative activist Charlie Kirk’s assassination. Unsurprisingly, in our balkanized times, tribalism has largely defined both sides’ versions of the tragedy.

The video of his death is shocking and is one of the factors that make his death different than the killings of other political leaders like former Minnesota Speaker of the House Melissa Hortman. We saw it, wish we hadn’t, and can’t unsee it.

What’s more, it happened on a college campus, nearly all of which are hotbeds of liberalism driven by activist students and even more activist faculty.
