Two hunters who prompted a large search and rescue effort after going missing last week in a southern Colorado forest have been found dead, according to a family member.
Andrew Porter and Ian Stasko, both 25, were both found dead Thursday, Porter's aunt Lynne Runkle wrote in an update on an online fundraiser that had been organized for the search effort. She added their bodies were discovered by Colorado Search and Rescue personnel.
The two men were on an elk hunting trip in the Rio Grande National Forest, and they were described by family members as experienced hunters and outdoorsmen. They sent their last communication to family members from a satellite communication device the afternoon of Sept. 11, and they were believed to have been spotted on a trail near a trailhead the morning of
