SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - September is Suicide Awareness Month, and Thursday was Chalk the Walk, an initiative in Sioux Falls that aims to help spread positive messages and hope through artwork.

Chalk the Walk is an initiative where the community comes together to share the message that you’re not alone.

“This is the first time we’ve done a statewide effort. And what’s really cool is that we have had a lot of organizations that have participated. So across the state, we have right around 150 businesses and organizations that are participating in this event. Of really just spreading those messages of hope and resilience to the communities that they live in,” said Senior Research and Evaluation Specialist Cody Ingle.
