COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) -A man is pursuing legal action and looking for answers as he claims weeks went by before the remains of his dog, Cooper, were returned.
Terry Bender tells 11 News he initially used the business, Peaceful Memories, to cremate Cooper after he was diagnosed with spleen cancer. Bender says he received an in-home euthanization from veterinarian Dr. Melissa Vollaire, who owns Transitions Veterinary. She then reportedly recommended Peaceful Memories to him. Bender says it took about three weeks to get his dog’s ashes and checked in several times on its status.
“Well, I got concerned when we weren’t getting any ashes back, and so I called her office a couple times, and they really didn’t have answers; it was real vague,” said Bender.
