BUTLER COUNTY, Ohio —

Three schools within the Lakota Local School District were placed on a brief lockdown Thursday after a stolen car chase ended in a crash nearby.

Officials confirmed Lakota Ridge Junior School, Freedom Elementary School and Union Elementary School went into lockdown around 2:45 p.m. The lockdown was lifted around 3:15 p.m., according to the district. Advertisement

West Chester police said a pursuit with a stolen car ended in the area of Tylersville Road and Kennesaw Drive.

The car later crashed at Lesourdsville West Chester and Tylersville roads, with police actively searching the area.
