AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - The community is invited to take steps toward a big goal this weekend.

The ‘ Walk to End Alzheimer’s ’ event aims to raise awareness and funds in the fight against Alzheimer’s and dementia.

This year’s walk will unite hundreds of community members, local businesses and families in a shared commitment to ending Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia.

Organizers say participants will have a chance to pick out different colored flowers that represents a connection to Alzheimer’s or dementia.

“Everyone with a yellow flower is a caregiver, everyone with a purple flower has lost someone they love to Alzheimer’s or dementia, everyone who has a blue flower currently has a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s or dementia,” said Marisa Vasquez, development manager for Alzheimer’s
