The Roosters will be entitled to apply to the NRL for about $150,000 in salary cap relief next year after whacking Victor Radley with the heaviest club-imposed penalty in their long history.

And, at this stage, the lock forward will be free to represent England next month if selected, reports Nine journalist Danny Weidler.

Radley was handed a 10-game suspension from the club on Thursday and will also pay $30,000 towards medical research for his involvement in the Brandon Smith saga.

Radley will not be paid for those 10 games out, with Weidler on Friday revealing the club will be able to put forward a case to scratch that amount off the salary cap.

He had been caught up in Smith's court case, which was adjourned until October 9 on Thursday morning, with messages that involved Radley
