PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Longtime late-night host Jimmy Kimmel’s show was yanked off the air indefinitely this week after remarks he made about the accused killer of Charlie Kirk.

“We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it,” Kimmel said during his Monday night monologue, now at the center of a controversy.

The decision to pull his show was first made by companies that operate local ABC affiliates.

“I think that’s absolutely insane. Kind of just takes away the whole freedom of speech thing,” said Phoenix resident Demetra Walker.
