UPDATE: In a 7–4 vote, the Hamilton County School Board chose to table the renewal of the Centerstone mental health contract.

The program was a free service for nearly 10 years.

The board will revisit the memorandum of understanding proposed by school board member Ben Connor at the next meeting on October 9th at 4:30pm.

PREVIOUS STORY: The Hamilton County School Board will discuss the possible reinstatement of Centerstone Thursday night, a month after narrowly voting to end a memorandum of understanding with the mental health provider.

Centerstone provided in-school counseling to students, meeting with students for 30–60-minute sessions, with parental consent, often before and after school or during electives.
