Anthony Wayne's trio of big hitters allowed the Generals to build momentum and take control of a key league volleyball match against rival Perrysburg on Thursday night.
Anthony Wayne rolled to a three-set victory on its home court, defeating the Yellow Jackets by scores of 25-16, 25-17, and 25-17.
Senior sisters Leah and Mallory Pike and junior Charley Gardner combined for 40 kills in the match.
“We call them our Big Three,” AW coach Chrissy Graven said. “We can leverage them or move them around and give them a lot of options, and their execution rates are high. Those three are very critical to our success.”
Leah Pike finished with a team-high 14 kills, while Mallory Pike had 12. Gardner, a junior outside hitter, also had 14 kills, including six in the final set. The Pike sisters will
