Jonah Tall and Ta’Rese Highsmith each scored two rushing touchdowns as Start defeated Waite 31-6 in a City League football game Thursday.

Tall opened scoring with a 28-yard run just past the midpoint of the first quarter. He tacked on a 69-yard carry for a score with a little less than two minutes remaining in the third to give the Spartans a 24-6 advantage.

Highsmith’s touchdowns were both short quarterback keepers. A 5-yard run with 3:05 to go in the second quarter gave Start the lead for good at 12-6, while he added a 1-yard score off a fumbled snap with 4:26 to go in the third.

Waite’s touchdown came 11 seconds after Tall’s first touchdown. Carl Foard threw a 39-yard scoring pass to Terron Belle.
