TYLER, Texas — Stanley's Famous Pit Barbecue is known for serving up perfectly smoked meats, but Thursday it delivered up all of that and more.

Earlier this month the barbecue joint hosted a fundraiser for the Tyler Type One Diabetes Foundation, an organization that helps East Texans living with Type 1 diabetes. Today, Stanley's presented the foundation with the check.

"We were really grateful that they did this," Sarah Wilson, executive director for Tyler Type One Diabetes Foundation, said. "We need the funding to serve our local Type 1 community, but it's also great for us to have exposure in the community. We were able to come in and set up our signs that raise awareness about Type One and about our program."
