TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — The Tampa Bay Lightning were back on the ice Thursday for the first day of training camp. The main focus for camp is to learn how to play as a group and gain chemistry.
"It's the communication, the chemistry that comes with training camp. That's the best part about training camp," Center Jake Guentzel said. "It's gonna be a fun journey ahead, and we can't wait until the long stretch of the season and see where we come out of it."
The first preseason game for the Bolts is on Monday, Sept. 22 against the Carolina Hurricanes on the road. The Bolts will host at Benchmark International Arena next Friday. They'll open the regular season in less than a month on Oct. 9 as they host the Ottawa Senators.
