Buffalo Bills starting cornerback Christian Benford was injured against the Miami Dolphins on Thursday Night Football.

On third-and-11 with 9:01 remaining in the third quarter, Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa went deep for wide receiver Tyreek Hill.

Benford left his feet and collided with safety Taylor Rapp as the ball fell incomplete.

Benford went into the fetal position with his hands around his midsection. He was was tended to by trainers and stayed facedown on his knees. Benford walked off the field under his own power and did not go into the blue medical tent for evaluation.

The official ruling from the Bills was Benford had the wind knocked out of him. He returned on the next series.
