There are 24 new U.S. citizens in Jurupa Valley.
They were congratulated this week in a ceremony at Rubidoux High School that included a classic American meal of hot dogs, hamburgers, apple pie and cake in room decorated with red, white and blue balloons.
The new citizens — who achieved the feat through the Jurupa Adult School — also received certificatesand small American flags at the event, a Jurupa Unified School District news release states.
The students “successfully passed the necessary tests, met requirements and swore an oath of allegiance to the United States,” the release states.
