SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — Onondaga County remains under a drought watch, so the D.E.C. urges residents to conserve water, if possible.
The recommendation to conserve water is not yet required. However, if the Department of Environmental Conservation decides to upgrade the watch to a warning, restrictions may be implemented.

The Commissioner of Emergency Management for Onondaga County, Dan Wears, doesn't have an exact timeline for when restrictions could be put in place, but is keeping tabs on the forecast.
"There's no significant rain forecasted in the next couple of weeks," Wears said. "So there's a chance those conditions could worsen."
