CLEMSON, S.C. (WSPA) - The City of Clemson approved a new 17-acre housing project called Varsity Club Phase III, which will provide accommodations for more than 500 people.
Once completed, the development will include 108 apartments and 44 townhomes, catering to undergraduates, graduate students, young professionals and families. The project comes as the city has an increased demand for housing due to the growing student population and limited land availability.
"We're feeling development pressures from all angles," said Assistant City Administrator Nathan Woods. "Students are just a piece of that."
