Parking time limits will be lifted at Cockburn Central in a bid to stop vehicles clogging up the streets.
The City of Cockburn council looked at introducing all-day paid parking last year after complaints about the lack of convenient and affordable all-day parking.
That review was re-presented to councillors at their September 2 meeting, with staff recommending that they continue collecting data on parking in Cockburn Central and defer introducing paid parking.
However, the council went one step further by also removing a three-hour limit in the southern part of Parking Station No.3 for a year while the review is carried out.
Cr Tom Widenbar said parking had not kept pace with the area’s growth.
