CINCINNATI (WXIX) - Hunter Greene’s ninth inning in the biggest win of his still young career carried reminders of some of the moments in his journey. On Thursday, the end result was a complete game shutout for Greene as the Cincinnati Reds beat the Chicago Cubs, 1-0, with a win that kept the Reds two games back of the New York Mets with nine games left to play.

It was the type of moment that Greene has been thinking about since the Reds drafted him in 2017. The team needed him to deliver, and Greene showcased all of the upside that has translated into the All-Star reputation that he now brings with him every time that he takes the mound.
