JAMESTOWN — Every coach will tell you:
"Defense wins championships."
It's true.
Aided by some scrappy and effective defense, the Jamestown High School volleyball team topped Bismarck High 3-0 on Sept. 18. Thursday's win moves the Jays to 5-1 in the WDA. Jamestown's next game is scheduled for Sept. 23 at Minot beginning at 7 p.m.
"I am feeling good about it, really, really good about it," JHS head coach Sara Hegerle said of the win. "Our kids put a whole match together and that is fun to see."
While the defense served as the starting point for plays, it was the Jays' offense that wound up dashing Bismarck's hopes
Jamestown's dynamic front row is five hitters deep this season with Amelia Newman, Claire Marker, Mari Anderson, Haley Attleson and Lucy Falk. Falk is currently ranked second
