BEREA, Ky. —
A Kentuckian who sacrificed his life for America was brought home five decades later to be laid to rest.
State police joined other law enforcement and Rolling Thunder Motorcycle Club to escort the remains of U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Henry Gish to his hometown of Berea.
Gish was declared missing in action in 1986 during the Vietnam War.
His remains were recently recovered and identified.
Some of his surviving family members were at the Louisville airport Thursday when his flag-draped coffin was taken off the plane.
Gish will be laid to rest in Berea with full military honors.
