LOUISVILLE, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) – No. 6 Kentucky volleyball defeated No. 3 Louisville in five sets on Thursday night in the Derby City, marking the program’s highest-ranked win this season and its first win over the cardinals in six years.
The first three sets were tightly contested, but in the fourth, the wildcats turned up the heat with a dominant 25-12 win. Kentucky’s offense was in control during the final two sets, hitting .444 and .591, respectively.
Four Wildcats finished with double-figure kills. Brooklyn DeLeye led the team with 24, Eva Hudson added 17, Brooke Bultema finished with 11, and Lizzie Carr had 10.
As a team, Kentucky racked up 70 kills and hit .209 overall in the statement victory.
