Emiliano's Mexican Restaurant and Bar in Pittsburgh's South Side neighborhood has permanently closed.

Pittsburgh's Action News 4 was there on Thursday evening as people walked up to the restaurant on East Carson Street to find that it was no longer in business. Advertisement

"I was surprised," said Clare Leodler, of the South Side. "It seems like they always had good business whenever I went in there. I didn't think there was any reason for it to close."

Other Emiliano's restaurant locations in Bethel Park, Cranberry and Gibsonia remain open.

In a statement on social media , Emiliano's said, "Like many businesses in our South Side community, we've weighed difficult decisions over the past year about how to serve you best in an increasingly challenging business climate.
