The Art Gallery of Southwestern Manitoba is hosting an opening reception this evening to showcase three new exhibitions featuring homegrown artists — two who attended high school in Brandon.
Kevin Conlin is a ceramic artist, instructor and amateur paleontologist who has pieces that have been shown and collected around the world, the gallery said in a news release.
After graduating from Crocus Plains Regional Secondary School in 1979, Conlin took ceramic training at the University of Northern Arizona and the University of Regina and taught at Brandon University.
He has also worked collecting fossils for the Canadian Museum of Natural History and the Royal Tyrell Museum in Alberta.
Conlin’s current exhibition, called “Ancestral Aviators,” will be featured in the main gallery at the AGSM.
