NOBLESVILLE, Ind. — Hamilton County will not be making the switch to vote centers for the 2026 elections.

A county spokesperson confirms one member of the election board voted against the move.

The switch from precincts to countywide vote centers requires unanimous approval from the election board, the county commissioners and the county council.

The commissioners and council voted for the transition. The Republican member of the election board member who voted against it says he wants to see how Allen County handles the switch. The election board there just approved vote centers for Fort Wayne this week.

The county spokesperson says 68 of Indiana's 92 counties have adopted vote centers.
