Syracuse, N.Y. — Interstate 690 will be reduced to one lane in both directions in Syracuse on Friday.

The closures are so crews can do surveying and pavement markings for the Interstate 81 viaduct project, according to the state Department of Transportation.

The closures will be in place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday at the following locations:

I-690 eastbound between the I-81 northbound on-ramp and Exit 14 (Teall Avenue)

I-690 westbound between Exit 14 (Teall Avenue) and Exit 13 (Townsend Street/Downtown)

The schedule is weather-dependent and subject to change, DOT said.
