San Bernardino and Inyo counties are included in an updated flood advisory issued by the National Weather Service on Thursday at 10:48 p.m. The advisory is in effect until Friday Sept. 19, at 2 a.m.

The NWS Las Vegas NV said, “Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.”

“Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Rises in small streams and normally dry washes. Overflowing poor drainage areas,” the NWS said. “Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.”
