The owner of a popular New England brunch restaurant chain was arrested Wednesday by police in Connecticut on felony theft charges, according to court records.

The Place 2 Be owner Gjinovefa “Gina” Luari, 33, is facing charges of second-degree larceny and writing a bad check for over $2,000 out of a Hartford County court for offenses committed on June 5, court records show. She was arrested by East Hartford police and later released on a $10,000 bond.
