A portable blender sold at Kmart and Target stores nationwide and online has been recalled by the Australian Consumer and Competition Commission.

The ACCC issued the notice after reports that the blenders, which were manufactured in China, self-activated when they were immersed in water, something the regulator said could lead to injuries, including lacerations.

The recall notice said that injuries had occurred because of this design defect.

The blenders were sold at the discount department stores between January 23 and September 3 and were marketed as a portable rechargeable blender that come in two pieces.
