NORCO — It was the kind of game where a big defensive play could completely change the momentum in favor of one team.

Norco junior linebacker Tony Gonzalez made the first play… and then a second one… and added one more for good measure.

Gonzalez intercepted passes in the second and third quarters Thursday and ended another drive with a fourth-down sack, as the Cougars scored 31 unanswered points and remained unbeaten with a 52-31 win over Citrus Valley in a nonleague game.

Norco is 5-0 for the first time since the 2021 spring season that was delayed and also shortened by the COVID-19 pandemic.
