Croix Bethune scored the tying goal in the 71st minute to help the Washington Spirit come away with a 2-2 tie vs. Angel City on Thursday night in Los Angeles.

Trinity Rodman also scored for the second-place Spirit (10-4-7, 37 points), who are unbeaten in their past nine matches (3-0-6).

Evelyn Shores scored for 10th-place Angel City (6-9-6, 24 points), which halted a two-game slide. The other Angel City tally was on a Washington own goal.

Angel City goalkeeper Angelina Anderson made eight saves, the biggest being when she got her hand on a left-footed blast by Sofia Cantore in the third minute of second-half stoppage time.
