Livingston MP Gregor Poynton has called for stronger action against illegal off-road bike use after a major community survey revealed the scale of the problem across West Lothian.
The survey, launched earlier this year, received 127 responses, one of the strongest responses to any community consultation Mr Poynton has run.
Over 95% of participants said off-road bikes are a “major” or “significant” problem in their area.
Residents raised repeated concerns about safety risks to pedestrians, children and older people; bikes tearing through playing fields, residential streets, and even shopping areas; noise at all hours disrupting sleep and daily life and anti-social behaviour and intimidation when residents challenge riders.
