More than a dozen people on Wednesday attended an open house in Sabillasville that was led by the U.S. Navy and local and state health officials to discuss testing private wells for possible contamination.

The Navy is seeking permission from property owners to sample private drinking water wells within the next week in a specific area around the Naval Support Facility Thurmont — a presidential retreat known as Camp David.
