Every Sept. 15 to Oct. 15, Hispanic Heritage Month offers us a chance to reflect on the history, resilience, and contributions of Latinos across this country.

For me, this celebration is also deeply personal.

My parents came to the United States from Mexico, leaving behind what they knew to build a better life for their family. They sacrificed, worked hard, and faced challenges with courage because they believed in the promise of opportunity.
