STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Staten Island Democrats will soon see a change of leadership after Chair Laura Sword said Thursday that she won’t be seeking another term.

Sword wrote in a text message that she wasn’t stepping down, but that she wouldn’t be seeking re-election to the chair position she’s held since 2023 as the party’s first female leader.
