A little poultry pro is hatching big plans to rule the roost in the Poultry Pavilion at this year’s Perth Royal Show, as he makes his third return to show off his beloved pet chooks.
Eight-year-old Lucas Morey, one of the youngest exhibitors, is following in the footsteps of his uncle, Reece Jerrett, proving the passion for poultry runs deep in the family.
For Mr Jerrett, a long-time chicken exhibitor and now a Royal Agricultural Society of WA councillor, the journey with chooks began as a young boy in suburban Mandurah.
“I always said I wanted to be a farmer,” Mr Jerrett said.
