After working at places including five-star hotels in India and a celebrity-owned restaurant in New York City, Rakesh Gurung is bringing his culinary expertise to the Harrisburg area.

Gurung, whose resume includes the former Sona in New York City, owned by Priyanka Chopra Jonas and her husband, singer Nick Jonas, recently opened Tamu in Lower Paxton Township.

The 40-seat restaurant, at 2380 Colonial Road in the new Forest Hills Commons near Weis Markets, is open daily for lunch and dinner.

Tamu’s menu is divided into appetizers, vegetarian dishes, grilled entrees, Indo-Chinese dishes, rice and noodles, and Chinese small bites, along with soups and momos, a traditional type of dumpling.
