VILLE PLATTE, La. (KLFY) -- A second parish in Acadiana has issued a burn ban.
In a letter dated Thursday Evangeline Parish President Kevin Veillon has ordered a parish-wide ban on private burnings, including all municipalities.
The Parish joins Acadia Parish, which issued its burn ban Wednesday.
As of Friday morning, five of the 64 parishes in the state have issued burn bans. In addition to Acadia and Evangeline, Allen, Tangipahoa and St. Helena parishes are under bans.
