The largest-ever wage theft case in Fairfax County history ended with a conviction against a government contractor's CEO, the county's commonwealth's attorney announced Thursday.
Thomas Burns Sr., former head of SP Global, Inc., in Chantilly, Virginia, failed to pay a total of more than $5 million in wages to more than 40 employees at the company. The 75-year-old former CEO pleaded guilty to three felonies: two counts of wage theft of more than $10,000, and one count of conspiracy to commit wage theft.
