CINCINNATI (WXIX) - Former Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Mohamed Sanu Sr. is retiring from the NFL.

Sanu, 36, announced his retirement Friday on X.

He thanked all of his coaches, teammates, and fans who supported him throughout his 10-year NFL career.

Sanu spent his first four years (2012-2015) with the Bengals.

Cincinnati drafted the wide receiver in the 3rd round of the 2012 NFL Draft.

During his time with the Bengals, Sanu accumulated 1,793 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns.

Sanu played on a number of teams after leaving Cincinnati.

He spent four seasons in Atlanta, two years in San Francisco, played eight games with New England and another seven games with Detroit.

It was with the Lions in 2021 that Sanu last played for.
