The towers of Notre-Dame Cathedral reopened Friday, six years after one of the world’s most famous landmarks was ravaged by a fire.

President Emmanuel Macron inaugurated the opening that coincides with the 42nd edition of European Heritage Days kicking off this weekend.

It also marks the final stage of the cathedral’s reconstruction.

The tower tour now features new spaces such as close-up access to the bells.

Notre Dame’s journey from ruin to resurrection was defined by extraordinary craftsmanship, nearly $1 billion in global donations and a collective, unyielding determination to rebuild.
