Work on a new playground and dog park is set to begin in the coming weeks in Germain Park.
The first steps in a $7-million master plan for the park that was endorsed by Sarnia city council in 2023 , the work is priced collectively at about $625,000, a recent city report stated.

Groundbreaking on both projects is expected some time in October, said the city’s Steve Henschel, noting roughly $400,000 of the accessible playground cost is covered by Sarnia’s casino-host revenue this year from the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation.
