CALHOUN FALLS, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - Officials confirmed the chief of police for Calhoun Falls has resigned from his position.
Chief Tim Richey reportedly resigned on Thursday.
A reason for the resignation was not provided.
Abbeville County Sheriff Ray Watson confirmed his agency has been helping staff the Calhoun Falls Police Department for several weeks due to manpower issues.
The town is facing scrutiny for financial issues that experts say have placed the community at high risk for fraud.
