Hundreds of gallons of diesel fuel spilled at a school bus yard in Rocky Hill on Friday, according to the Connecticut Department of Energy & Environmental Protection.
They said there was a mechanical issue with a truck’s fueling equipment, fuel spilled onto pavement and more fuel spilled before DEEP crews arrived when the malfunctioning equipment was moved.

They estimate that several hundred gallons of diesel spilled and said the spill has been contained to paved surfaces and hasn’t reached catch basins or waterways nearby.
Environmental services have been called in to manage the cleanup, DEEP said, and their staff is at the scene to oversee the response.
