Its exotic smells, sounds, tastes and people bait the hook of the curious. But, as ever, there is danger hidden behind its lush facade.
People disappear in Asia. Sometimes of their own volition. At other times, there is a more sinister edge, and naive Western travellers make the perfect victims and patsies.
Tiberius ‘Ti’ Baker, 34, a onetime Vancouver DJ and club owner, may be the latest victim of the Asian seduction. He checked out of the Onederz Hostel in Sihanoukville, Cambodia, on the Gulf of Thailand, on Jan. 4.
