A woman is in custody after taking off in a city bus in Lawrence, Kansas.
The Lawrence, Kansas, Police Department said the woman allegedly forced her way into the driver's seat of the bus at the Central Transit Station around 11:15 a.m. Friday. Advertisement
The driver and two passengers got off the bus before she left the station.
The woman then took off, traveling north on Iowa Street, east on Sixth Street and north on Maine Street, police said. She was traveling around 35 to 40 mph.
Officers surrounded the bus near Second and Michigan streets, and the woman surrendered.
She was taken into custody and then taken to the hospital for evaluation.
No one was injured in the incident.
