The Cornwall Colts kicked off the 2025-26 Central Canada Hockey League regular season with a win on Thursday, downing the Carleton Place Canadians 3-2.

The Colts played the home-opener at the Benson Centre, while renovations continue at the team’s usual home base , the Ed Lumley Arena at the Cornwall Civic Complex. Home games will continue to be played at the Benson Centre until next month.

Wilson Dowse got on the scoreboard first, the Colts player taking the assist from Timothy Walker and Houston Johnson to get the puck past Canadians goaltender Liam Conway at 13:17 of the first period.

Carleton Place’s Joe Devlin would respond at 17:49, off assists from Nathan Landriault and Alex Culligan.
