A new bench has been installed at West Market Square.

Chainsaw artist Pasco Grove worked with the help of Ben Richardson to move a new, intricately carved, bench into the downtown square on Friday.

The previous bench that stood in West Market Square, called “Lumber Jack and Jill” by Grove, will be refurbished before being relocated to the Bangor Waterfront.

The new bench has many detailed features carved into it, including “Bangor” distinctively standing out on one of the lobster’s shells.

“You start looking at it and you get lost in it,” Grove said Friday.
