Motorists traveling on Route 46 in Knowlton Township should prepare for lane restrictions as construction starts on a major bridge replacement project.

A single lane on Route 46 will be closed in both directions starting at 8 p.m. Friday and continuing until 11 a.m. Saturday. The closures will affect the area between Route 94 at milepost 0.6 and milepost 0.8, where Route 46 westbound becomes two lanes after Walnut Road.

At least one lane will remain open during the closure, and the exit ramp to Interstate 80 eastbound and Route 94 northbound toward New York City and Blairstown will stay accessible.
